Jessa believes in positive reinforcement training methods where the animal learns to offer behavior voluntarily. Consistency and structure to training is key, but we do not utilize or recommend methods that cause fear, pain, or avoidance in our dogs.

If you decide that Sterling Canines is the right solution for you and your dog we offer 1 hour virtual training sessions to teach your dog new skills & behaviors. Our virtual training is extremely effective because your dog will be learning from you 100% of the time - while you get expert coaching live from our trainer.
We also offer a 1 hour consultation on all topics related to service dogs - from discussing tasks to mitigate your disability, working on problem solving behaviors with your current service dog, to finding a breeder, trainer, or service dog organization to help you achieve your service dog goals.

Seminars & workshops
We regularly deliver seminars on service dogs for non-profit organizations and businesses, and can provide instruction on a wide range of dog training topics. Jessa works as an Academy Instructor, teaching and mentoring students working to become professional dog trainers. Seminars are a great opportunity for businesses to educate their employees about service dogs and how they assist people in our communities.
Jessa provides workshops on training tasks for assistance dogs, including mobility assistance tasks and medical alert task training. These workshops give handler’s a hands on opportunity to introduce behavior to their dog, and see how to progress the behavior to a reliable finished task.

boarding & training
Jessa currently offers a board and train program in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dogs who come for boarding and training live in our home, and become a part of our household while they are with us. Each dog receives individualized attention for the duration of their training program.
Our Board & Train program is ideal for dogs who need basic obedience training and life skills, and for service dog prospects to jump start socialization and public access skills. We also offer a public access & task-focused program for service dogs in training.
We do not currently accept any dogs with aggression towards people or other animals, but we are happy to help via private training and by referral to alternate programs.
A video walk through of our home is available, but we don’t currently offer an in-person walk-through. For nearby clients we offer transportation to and from our home if needed.
Our Board & Train program starts at $100/per day. Each dog gets a minimum of one hour of focused training in addition to normal training involved in daily care and life in our active household.
